American Foxhound / Boxer Mixed Breed Dogs

Information and Pictures

A tan large breed dog with ears that hang to the sides, white on the tips of her paws and end of her snout laying down in dirt

Penny the American Foxhound / Boxer mix at 1 1/2 years old—"When we found Penny she had all ready gone through 3 homes and was only 1 year old. She has been with us for all most a year and is here to stay. She is the kindest gentalest dog I have ever met. The Foxhound shows through strongly as she is a runner and we had to install a large fence around 2 acres to keep her from wondering. She was originally a rescue dog and I have found her brother and sister littermates. Both say that there dogs share the same temperment and traits. We are still trying to figure out why know one would keep her as she is a wonderful friend and member to our family."

Description

The American Boxer Foxhound is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Foxhound and the Boxer. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
