Donatello The Rottweiler x Australian Shepherd dog at 4 years old—"Donatello is an amazing mix breed dog. The most well behaved dog I have ever had. He has the sweet and protective demeanor of a Rottweiler, but, the intelligence and energy of an Aussie."
The Aussie Rottie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Rottweiler and the Australian Shepherd. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Nala the Australian Shepherd / Rottweiler mix breed puppy at 3 months old.—"Nala is adjusting well. She gets along very good with both our other dog and our cats. She is very loving and loves to play with them. Before adopting her, she was sick with Parvo, and managed to get great treatment and is now a healthy puppy. When she is ready for a nap she lays by my reading spot and waits for me to sit down so she can cuddle next to me while she naps. She still needs some training, as all puppies do, but she is learning very quickly, and listens to any commands or instructions she receives."
This is Roxy my puppy at 9-weeks-old. She is a purebred Rottweiler mixed with a purebred Australian Shepherd.
