"This is a photo of our female Boston Terrier / Shih Tzu mix. Her name is Bailey and she is two years old in this picture. She weighs 23 lbs. and is very friendly. She loves people, especially children, and other dogs. She was very easily housetrained and is quite smart. She is very playful and loves to swim. She runs very fast for a little dog and is strong for her size. She was very easy to leash train because going for a walk is one of her favorite things to do. She has never gotten car sick and only barks when something is up. The only bad habit I can think of is she likes to dig and has some serious claws. Our vet loves this breed and says she is very healthy. We are very pleased with this mixed breed and get lots of comments on her. She has nine siblings from two different litters and everybody loves them mostly because they are good with children and are so playful."
The BoShih is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Boston Terrier and the Shih-Tzu. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Cuddles and Frenchie, two Boshihs (Boston Terrier / Shih-Tzu mix)—"Cuddles has her ears down and Frenchie is the one with her ears up. Their mom was a papered Boston Terrier and their dad a papered Shih-Tzu. Their full-grown weight is about 20 pounds. They are the most loveable dogs ever!"

Buster the BoShih as an 8-week-old puppy—"We just got him, but he is already so loving, playful and very smart. He is already started potty training. It should be easy to get him trained."
"Sinting is three quarters Boston Terrier / one quarter Shih Tzu. She is very lively, affectionate, loves contact; a people dog. When clipped she looks almost completely Boston, the Shih Tzu component showing in the coat, which is naturally medium length, and perhaps in the eyes. She loves to ride in the car and from a tiny pup has had perfect car manners with little training. She lives with cats, kittens and an older dog."
