Wet Dog Bed Syndrome

Have you ever noticed your dog's bed being wet and you're not sure how it happened? Perhaps you just assume he peed in it, but why would he do that and continue to sleep on top of it?

Perhaps your dog didn't do it at all. Sometimes when a dog bed is on top of a cold floor the warm body of the dog above and the coldness below can create condensation, much like your cold drink sitting on the table in front of you. The glass is colder than the air, therefore moisture forms on the outside.

Floors can be surprisingly much colder than the air above. While it may be 72 degrees above at a human level, it can be 10 degrees colder at the ground level. So while your comfortable, your dog may be cold.

This wet dog bed syndrome can ruin a floor and make for one stinky dog bed.

The solution? Raise the dog bed off of the ground letting air pass between the floor and the bed.
