Champ the Kimola (American Eskimo / Lhasa Apso mix) at 1 year old—"He is a very courageous, protective, obedient and very friendly member of our family. He is best friends with everyone, especially our 5-month-old daughter! He knows several tricks such as "high five," "shake" and "say please." He also has a very guilty conscious...if we find a magazine torn to shreds all we have to do is say, "Champ, did you do this?" and he will sulk to his kennel."
The Kimola is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Eskimo and the Lhasa Apso. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
Daisy the Kimola (American Eskimo / Lhasa Apso mix) at 18 years old—"Daisy was born in Chicago January 12, 1999 and I adopted her 10 weeks later. She has the best personality and has been loving with children and adults. She's not too fond of other dogs, but will tolerate. I have walked her 2-3 times a day, about 20/40 min daily, which may have something to do with how healthy she is and how long she is living. She still runs and jumps on the bed, twirls around and gives me some happy barks. Her favorite treats are turkey bacon for dogs and cheese which she gets daily. She beat breast cancer about 7 years ago, but it was hard on her. Her vet just did a blood test and said her results were better than his! I'm grateful I have her, my adult children have loved her almost their whole lives at this point. My late husband truly loved her, when he was diagnosed with liver cancer she stayed by his side always with love and affection. She stayed under the hospice bed and wouldn't leave the night he passed, all day she wouldn't go out. We think she sensed the end was coming and she didn't want to leave her Daddy. She is so sweet, Daisy is the greatest dog I've ever known."

Ziggy the Kimola at 1 year old—"Ziggy is very affectionate and playful. He sleeps in late, trained very quickly and easily, and is a wonderful companion! He doesn't shed at all and is great at the groomer."
