The Potsdam Greyhound has the appearance of a small-size sighthound breed. In size it is probably somewhere between the Whippet and the Italian Greyhound. In appearance it looks bigger and more robust than the Italian Greyhound. The color is a uniform bright reddish/orange with white on its feet, the tip of its tail, and a white snippet running through the center of its muzzle.

The Potsdam Greyhound is good for apartment life. They are fairly active indoors and will do okay without a yard. They are sensitive to cold weather.
This breed needs to be taken on a daily walk. While out on the walk the dog must be made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, as instinct tells a dog the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human.
About 10-12 years
About 4-8 puppies
The Potsdam Greyhound is one of the easiest dogs to groom. All that is needed to keep the fine, silky coat gleaming is a rubdown with a piece of toweling or chamois. Only bathe when absolutely necessary. After bathing make sure the dog is thoroughly dry and warm. Trim toenails regularly. This breed is an average shedder.
A locally bred Italian dog, the Potsdam Greyhound is a coursing breed raced by amateurs.
