Leo the Powderpap at 8 years old— "Leo is a very sweet boy. He is calm and cuddly and hardly ever barks. Leo is one of the most reliably housebroken dogs I've ever known. He is very quick to listen to commands without needing food as a bribe (although a little cheese goes a long way to boost the enthusiasm!) His coat is very high maintenance and I keep him clipped close except for his feet, head and tail for easier care. He was well socialized as a puppy and so is very amiable to other people and animals, he even has a lizard as a friend! Of the two breeds he is made up of, his personality seems to have taken after the Chinese Crested almost 100%!"
The Powderpap is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Papillon and the Chinese Crested. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
