Description

The Toy Torkie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Toy Fox Terrier and the Yorkshire Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Bailey the female Torkie at 1 year old—"We thought she might lose some of her Toy Fox Terrier look as she aged, because other Torkies that we know tended to look more like the Yorkshire Terrier over time, but she seems to have kept the combination of the breeds that we fell in love with. In this Halloween picture Bailey had just turned one and weighed 6.5 pounds. She is so sweet, inquisitive and playful—we're nuts about her!"
