Collectable Vintage Bloodhound Dogs

For your enjoyment only. This is my own personal vintage dog figurine collection. They are not for sale.

The right side of a brown and black Hagen Renaker Miniature Bloodhound figurine. The figurine is glossy. The dog has smelling the ground. It has a long tail and long drop ears that hang down to the sides of the dogs face. The dogs nose is painted black and it has black eyes. It has wrinkles on its forehead.

This is one of my favorite Hagen Renaker miniatures. It is item number A-2062. It is called “Bloodhound Standing” by Maureen Love. The artist really captured the breed in this one. It is of a Bloodhound dog sniffing the ground. The figurine was first added to the HR line in the fall of 1998 and retired in the fall of 1992. This is the black and tan version; there is also a solid red/brown version (shown below) which was a special run sold in France. It measures 1 1/2 inches tall from the ground to the top of the back, 3 inches long from the tip of the tail to the tip of the nose and 1 1/4 inch wide across the back legs. Made in the USA

A line up of four Hagen-Renaker Bloodhound figurines. The figurines has very cartoon-y details with big black noses and black eyes.

Pictured is a line-up of four Hagen-Renaker Bloodhound dogs designed by Don Winton. They were from the same design as the Disney character Trusty from the Lady and the Tramp series which came out in the late 1950s. In the 1960s when the license expired between the Hagen-Renaker company and Disney, HR continued to produce some of the same models, but with less detail and in different color variations. The dogs shown here are the non-Disney versions.

The first two are vintage hard-to-find (HTF) “Bloodhound Seated.” They are item number 854 and were made between 1985 and 1988. It is of a Bloodhound dog in a sitting pose with an open mouth. Something odd about them is if you look at them from the front they do not have a collar. However if you turn them around and look at them from the back they both have yellow collars.

The two dogs on the right are re-issues starting in the fall of 2008, shown here in two different shades of brown. They are of the same design as the dogs on the left, but from a slightly larger mold. They are item number 5013. Instead of the open mouth they have pink tongues. They both have orange collars with a shiny tag.
