Collectable Vintage Doxie Scot Dogs

Dachshund / Scottish Terrier Mixed Breed Dogs

For your enjoyment only. This is my own personal vintage dog figurine collection. They are not for sale.

The right side of a white and black Doxie laying down figurine. The figurine has fine hair details. The dog has ears that hang down to the sides, a big black nose and a wide snout from a lot of thick hair.

Pictured is a rare vintage trademark 1 (TMK-1) Goebel double crown mark figurine of a mixed breed dog. Rather than put this figurine in the general mix section I decided to post it on a Dachshund / Scottish Terrier (Doxie Scott) mix page since it looked so much like the hybrid. The figurine is of a black and white dog in a lying down pose. The head is relatively shaped like a Scottie and the coat is medium length and a bit shaggy like the Scottie. The tail is short like the Scottie and the ears are hanging like the Dachshund. The legs are very short and the body is long like both the Dachshund and the Scottish Terrier. The nose is large and black and the eyes are black like the Scottie. Judging by the double crown mark logo on the bottom the figurine was made between 1935 and 1949. The crown mark is the very first trademark (TMK-1) the Goebel company used on their figurines. It is the symbol of a crown; under the crown are the letters W and G overlapping one another. The term double crown mark is used when the symbol appears twice on the same piece. On this figurine it appears in a green stamp and an incised engraving. There is also an engraving that reads C.H. 118.0, a double digit number I am unable to read and an engraving that reads Dep.. It measures 3 inches tall from the ground to the top of the ear, 4 1/2 inches long from the side of the face to the base of the tail and 2 inches wide across the bottom from hip to paw.
