Pictured is a white version of the vintage porcelain Saint Bernard dog by Goebel. It is of a white dog with brown and black markings carrying a brandy cask barrel under its neck in a standing pose. On the bottom is the trademark 5 (TMK-5) Goebel logo of the bee inside the V above the 'bel' in the name Goebel. Below that it reads W. Germany. The logo determines the date of the figurine and this one dates between 1972 and 1978. It measures roughly 3 inches high from the ground to the top of the head, about 4 inches long from the front of the snoot to the tip of the tail and 1 3/8 inch wide across the back legs from paw to paw. This figurine also came in a darker tan color and a white bisque version, shown below.

Tan version of the vintage 1970s porcelain Saint Bernard dog by Goebel—unlike the white version shown above this one has an engraving on the inside leg that reads 607 A.
Pictured is another darker tan version of the vintage 1970s porcelain Saint Bernard dog by Goebel. It is of the same figurines shown above but in a darker color. I have seen a lot of counterfeit Goebel figurines that look similar to this one. The counterfeits were missing the trademark stamp and some of them had holes in the feet instead of a solid base. Some even had a sticker on it that was taken off of another item and placed on the counterfeit. The sure way to tell if a Goebel is the real thing is to look for the trademark stamp, however not all figurines contain the stamp as some had stickers which came off. Most Goebels will have an engraved number as well, but not all do.

This is a little Saint Bernard puppy by Goebel. It is of a white, brown and black tricolor dog in a lying down pose. It has soft sleepy eyes and an adorable little face. On the bottom is the Goebel trademark 6 logo of the name Goebel stamped in blue with W. Germany below it, dating it between 1979 and 1990. I believe this is one of the older pieces judging by the amount of crazing. There is also an engraving which I believe reads 10114 however it is a little hard to read. It measures 1 inch tall from the ground to the top of the head, 3 inches long from the back of the tail to the front paw and 1 3/8 wide across the bottom from back hip to hip. Made in West Germany

West Germany Saint Bernard puppy by Goebel—this pup is in a laying down pose. It has a happy look on its face. Done in a nice glossy finish, it is in good vintage condition. On the bottom is the Goebel trademark 6 (TMK-6) logo of the name Goebel with W. Germany below it. Collectors call this trademark the “missing bee” as there is no bee in the Goebel trademark logo. The logo dates the figurine between 1979 and 1990. There is also an engraved number that reads 30-112-0. It is 2 1/2 inches high from the ground to the top of the head, 5 1/2 inches long from the tail to the front paws and about 2 inches wide from hip to hip.
