Keegan the Australian Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix (Aussie Siberian) at 8 years old
The Aussie Siberian is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Australian Shepherd and the Siberian Husky. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
Tiberius the Husky / Australian Shepherd mix at 2 years old—"Tiberius was adopted from the local shelter where he had been surrendered multiple times for being an escape artist. We have had him for 9 months and he is a joy. Originally he showed some anxiety and uncertainty but as time went on he has become very comfortable, playful, sweet, loving, loyal, and energetic. He is so weird with playing with other dogs, he acts like he doesn't understand how to play yet will be very social with dogs that are much like him in size and breed. Sometimes we have trouble feeding him because he enjoys having any trace of other food mixed in with his dry food (picky eater). Tibs loves the outdoors and turns into a wild animal in any natural environment. He is about 55 lbs, slender, and fit. Has one green eye and one brown eye. Chocolate brown fur coat with cream and white on his chest and paws. We experience some separation anxiety but believe it's from being surrendered to the shelter. Very happy dog with so much emotion. Rarely barks but will howl on occasion."

Sansa the half Husky / half Australian Shepherd mix at 2 years old—"Sansa is a rescue dog that we have adopted. A friend couldn't take care of her and me and my husband took her in. When we got her you could see her rib cage. After we took her in she became a 35 pound (15.8 kg) dog and is happy and playful especially when it comes to our kids. She looks more like a Husky then an Australian Shepherd."
"Vincent is a male Australian Shepherd mixed with Siberian Husky. He is about 6 months old at 53 pounds in the picture, but at a year old was 80 pounds. He chews on everything! (The car, the BBQ grill, the motorcycle, the hot tub, everything except his toys...which he buries.) I walk him a mile every morning and evening and take him on every camping / hiking trip I go on. He loves the outdoors and wanders everywhere but sticks pretty close. I just ordered a harness to take him biking because he loves pulling me on my bike with his collar. He is easily trained and is very hyper."
Bailey the Australian Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix—"She loves to play outside; she could run around all day. She's very intelligent and often surprises us by what she can do."

Alize the Aussie / Husky mix (Aussie Siberian)—"Alize is the best friend that most people will never come across in their lifetime. She came to me when she was 6 weeks of age and has never left my side since. She never went thru the typical puppy stuff like chewing or digging. She just never had an interest in that stuff. She was always worried about where I was and what I was doing. I go to bed and of course she is at my bedside as I hear her panting heavily and sometimes moaning. She is 13 years old and it just brings tears to my eyes knowing that my best friend is in pain due to her arthritis even after giving her medication every night and morning. I'm so afraid to get up because as soon as I get up she gets up also, but it takes her awhile and I want her to rest. I can not come to the realization that my friend is tired and I may not have her to much longer. I love her immensely and she loves me extremely."

Aleksandre "Aleks" the Australian Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix (Aussie Siberian) as a puppy—"Aleksandre is a young silver merle Aussie/Husky with tan points and a white belly and chest, one white spot on the back of his head, and white toe tips and tail tip. The first month or so that we had him (9 weeks to 14 weeks) Aleks was very serious, reserved, and observant, but as he becomes more comfortable with his home and "pack" he is getting more silly. He is quite rambunctious, and provides his 5 year old Border Collie sister (Chloe) with a very demanding job. He is extremely attached to her, and loves to wrestle in the yard, and sometimes tries inside as well. He has always been a good walker and will follow right behind our heels, even when off-leash. He has three cat brothers of varying attitudes and is very sweet to them, putting his ears back and wagging his tail to get them to play. The most notable combination of his breeds is in his communication. Aleks is very vocal and expressive like a Husky, and will bark, grumble, whine, whistle, and (play) growl. He does not know how to howl, however, so the sharp Aussie bark is heard most often. He is incredibly intelligent, though stubborn, and is easy to train when he wants to be. He is not one to waste energy, and will flat-out ignore things he doesn't see purpose to (like "shake," or longer training sessions). His eye contact is great, especially when he's using it to "ask" for things."
