Emma the Labradinger at 2 years old—"Emma the Labradinger is a rescue dog. We adopted her when she was about 10 months old. At this time, she was afraid of her own shadow, and unfortunately, her deep insecurity had made her a dog that lunged, barked and also nipped anything that was frightening: other dogs, strangers, kids, joggers, prams, suitcases, bikes, scooters, horses, figurines, rubbish bins, you name it. Behind this fear there was a very smart, highly energetic, and very affectionte dog. Emma has since come a long way. At almost 3 years, she starts to calm down, and she has gained a lot in security and learned to trust in the world. She is still afraid of smaller kids and some dog breeds. But this aside, she is easy. She is fine staying home alone, never chewed on anything she was not meant to chew (but one flipflop), and great with our cats. She alerts to visitors with a few barks but else, is a quiet dog. She is very ball-driven, easily trainable and keen to learn new tricks. She loves to swim in the sea and in lakes, particularly, when it involves retrieving balls. She is enduring and wants to please. She has now started with nose work and agility, and it is fun to see how quickly she learns and how motivated she is to work. Definitely a dog who needs kind of a job and mind challenges on top of exercise to not get bored. With people she knows and trusts, she is very affectionate and likes to cuddle as much as possible. We would not swap her for any other dog in the world."

"Ellie was originally bred and trained as a working gundog and nothing will stop her from retrieving something if I ask her to. She loves searching and after several hours of exercise will look disappointed when I put her back in her kennel. All her training is done using tennis balls as her reward; if my stock of tennis balls is running low I’ll take her to the local park and the bushes around the tennis courts, we are guaranteed to come home with a bag full of ‘lost’ balls."
"She is an outgoing dog that will give anything a go, being eager to please and everyone’s best friend, she is a hit at the local park."

"I took this picture of our 9-week-old pup Jacca testing out his teeth on our rug! He's actually been a little angel. We expect the odd chomp and wee at this age, but his training is coming along nicely. We watch the Dog Whisperer and are training him already; he's responding well. Bless him."
