Buster the Affenshire (Affenpinscher / Yorkie mix) puppy at 6 months old—"Buster is a great combo of both breeds and so are his littermates. They are very smart, loving and playful. They love to be with other dogs big or small if introduced properly. They will dig for moles and chase almost anything that moves here on the farm. They will also lay with you and watch TV all night. This mixed breed does need to have it's run around time. If you are not a terrier person then this breed is not for you. They can be hyper like a Jack if not given enough physical and mental exercise, are scrappy like any terrier I know, and be very loving to the family they love. My pups and Buster were pretty easy to crate train and to puppy pad train. They love to run outside, so when they were older taking them out to potty was not a problem. Just remember there size and coloring if you live in an open area or in the country where hawks and owls will think they are rabbits and try to take them. Ugly but true. So watch your small breed puppy when outside always."
Affen Yorkie
The Affenshire is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Affenpinscher and the Yorkshire Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
