"This is my Patton Terrier named Doby He is a Boston Terrier / Patterdale Terrier mix shown here at 14 months old and about 23 pounds. He likes to chase squirrels and other small creatures but never growls or barks. He loves attention and going for car rides as well as being outdoors and swimming."
The Patton Terrier is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Patterdale Terrier and the Boston Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
Rudy the Boston Terrier / Patterdale Terrier mix breed dog (Patton Terrier) at 15 months old—"Rudy is a very active boy. Loves to swim, chase a ball and chew. He gets 2 hours of walks a day and feels neglected if he doesn't get this. When we have been away on holiday he will play out all day without rest. He rarely barks or growls, is a keen learner so has been easy to train and was fully house broken by 4-5 months. His dad was a wire haired Patterdale so he gets very bushy if u let his hair grow, but we keep him clipped. He is 9.5 kilos (or 21 pounds)."
