"This is Diesel (aka Tollchester Phoenix Tollwest). He is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever shown here at 10 months old. He is a typical Toller in that he requires a lot of exercise. We walk at least 2 miles everyday and he still needs additional time cruising in the yard. His favorite game is retrieving anything from the water. His ears perk up when he hears the words "lake" or "bye-bye". He is very good with our two young boys, ages 5 and 2. Initially wary of strangers, he quickly warms up and is the newcomer's friend (albeit, not best friend like a Lab would act). Diesel came to us in Michigan from his breeder in British Columbia, Canada at the age of 12 weeks. He has been a great addition to our home. He is training in competitive obedience and will soon hit the show rings in conformation. His only bad habit would be eating fabric. He only does it while in his crate, so we have to make a point to remove any loose articles before leaving. Tollers are a wonderful and highly versatile breed for an active family. I would recommend Tollers to anyone who wants an active, medium-sized dog--as long as they have researched all the reasons NOT to get a Toller!"

Tokala the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever—"Ch. Ravenswood Feather In My Cap. Call name "Tokala" or formerly "Toque". "Tokala" (the Native American Souix & Dakota word for "fox") has her AKC conformation championship, but is now spayed. She was a bit timid when we first brought her home (afraid of the new surroundings) but she now loves to swim, isn't afraid of noises, and has become a great companion! We take her with us to friends houses, on the boat, to fairs, pretty much anywhere she's allowed."
Tokala the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever at 2 years old—"My husband and I wanted a companion dog who will join us on our boat in the Chesapeake Bay, and jogging. We wanted a intelligent dog with energy that can be channeled through walks, agility &/or obedience lessons. Tokala turned out to be a great dog for us."
