"This is Sugar, our one-year-old Mini Chihuahua. She gave birth to three puppies. The first, a black female with white chest, was born on Dec. 29, 2009 at 11:35 p.m. She got stuck in the birth canal for over an hour and wasn't breathing. Sugar had broken the sac before she came out. I had to go in with gloved hands and K-Y lube and help get her out. We got her breathing but she would not nurse properly and you could hear the fluid in her lungs. She passed away on Dec. 31, 2009 at about eight in the morning. She was the smallest of the three."

"The second, a blonde male arrived at 1:53 a.m. Dec. 30, 2009. He is Sugar's favorite (mine as well)."
"The last, a black female (the biggest) with white paws, white tip on her tail and a white inverted "T" on her back, was born at 5:23 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2009. She's feisty and is a nonstop eater—she's fat already!"
