"Rylie is a rescued Beagle Cairn Terrier mix. She has traits of both a Beagle and a Cairn. She loves to dig. She usually digs at the sheets if we slide our hands under them. When walking outside, if she smells something she is very stubborn about moving away from the smell until she finds it and investigates it. She does not bark as much as most dogs and actually does not wail like a Beagle. She only barks when playing rough or after she has burried herself in the blanket and wants you to come find her. She loves to wrestle and chase after her toys or even your foot. She has a funny quality of picking play fights and getting her way. She is simply a delight to have around."
The Cairn Beagle is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Beagle and the Cairn Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
