Cassi the Cocker Spaniel / Doberman Pinscher mix breed puppy at 9 weeks old—"Cassi is 15 parts Cocker Spaniel and 1 part Doberman. We are calling the mix Spounds. Spaniel crossed with a hound, for the Doberman was essentially a hound breed that we introduced 4 generations back. From this initial cross of a purebred Cocker Spaniel males have been crossed with female offspring. These have strong Cocker Spaniel personalities and temperament traits but retain the short coat from the initial Doberman. A 2:6 ration of traditional to short has been maintained. They are gentle, affectionate and loyal and have made great pets and assistance dog's to disabled children and young adults. Only 4th Generation pups in the world that I'm aware of in my 14 years of breeding them."
The Dobocker is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Doberman Pinscher and the American Cocker Spaniel. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
