"Lola is a 7 month old Boxer / Golden Retriever mix. Her mother is a Golden and her father is a Boxer. At 7 months she weighs 55 pounds. She is a very sweet dog and is not aggressive at all. She loves to snuggle and will sleep anywhere. She is great in the car and likes kids. We bring her to our 4th grade sons school 3-4 times a week and the kids all love her. She lets all the kids pet her. The only person she ever barks at is the mailman, but then... she is a dog! She does need a lot of exercise and she lets you know it by hitting (boxing) you with her huge paws. As long as she gets an hour walk in each day she is very well behaved. The two times we missed her walk she ate a shoe. Our vet told us to expect her to weigh 65-85 lbs when she is full grown."
The Golden Boxer is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Boxer. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
"This is Rusty, my Golden Boxer puppy. So far, at 8 weeks old, he seems to be a very good dog. He is very smart and good natured. He has already learned to retrieve things when I throw something. He is also good around children and other animals. I enjoy him very much."
