Passion the full-grown Japeke (Chin / Pekingese mix) on the sofa
The Japeke is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Japanese Chin and the Pekingese. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Oliver the Japeke (Japanese Chin / Pekingese mix breed) as at 7 years old—"Oliver was the only tuxedo puppy in his litter of 6. His littermates were all white with black spots. He's quite the character and is obsessed with toys. Unfortunately he has seizures every so often (many flat faced dogs do), but that doesn't stop him! He still has the energy he did when he was a puppy!"
