"Bruiser is my Papijack (Papillon / Jack Russell hybrid). He is a bit stockier than Alfie, my other Papijack. He is 3 years old in these pictures and he is amazing. He does lots of tricks, including 'Beg' (the command we use is 'Up'), 'Talk' (where he starts barking and howling), 'Spin' (where he spins obviously) and 'Smile' (he bares his teeth). He is great fun and loves other dogs and ADORES people of all ages. He loves cats; in fact, he has a cat named Scratch! (But she never scratches!) We love Bruiser and everyone else does, too! He follows you off the lead and knows how to cross roads! (Tell him 'Wait' and he stands, 'Go' and he charges across the road.) He is just a bundle of fun and fluffiness. When we got him, his name was 'Teddy', but after having him in the house for 1 day, we knew it had to be Bruiser! He is a total lovebug."
The Papijack is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Papillon and the Jack Russell Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

"Alfie the Papijack hybrid at 10 weeks old—he is a Papijack and got his looks from his father. He is a great family pet. We have another Papijack called Bruiser. He adores children, babies, adults and other dogs. A little girl picked him up the other day by wrapping both hands around his neck and hauling him up. He didn't protest, but stayed still for the (probably) painful experience. He wagged his tail throughout. He went right up to a street cleaner and wagged his tail. A fireworks display was on near us and he simply looked out of the door and cocked his head, tail wagging. He plays with his reflection a lot, too! Alfie and Bruiser are best pals. He is a great pet, we love him to bits! He hasn't learned any tricks yet, but Bruiser knows tons and we're sure he will teach Alfie a thing or two!"
