Pictured is a rare Goebel double crown mark Shepherd dog made between 1935 and 1949. The crown mark is the very first trademark (TMK-1) the Goebel company used on their figurines. It is the symbol of a crown; under the crown are the letters W and G overlapping one another. A double crown mark means the mark appears twice on the same piece. This one has the mark stamped in blue and an incised mark. On the bottom in addition to the double crown mark is an engraving that reads CH 203. This Shepherd dog is in a sitting pose with its tail wrapped around to the front. The body is brown with a white underbelly. It measures 6 5/8 inches from the ground to the tip of the ear, 4 inches long across the bottom from the front paw to the back of the tail and 2 1/2 inch wide from the hip to the side of the tail.
