The Social Life of a Show Dog

A Show Dog's Life

A child in a purple jacket is holding a black with grey dog in his arms and they are looking at a popcorn machine make popcorn.

Show dogs need to be socialized. Temperament is an important part of any show/breeding program, so these dogs get introduced to a wide variety of situations. Exposing them to a wide variety of sounds is important. Pictured here is Chamby meeting the popcorn popper with Shannon. She is very interested in this strange thing....

Two Havanese dogs are standing on a beach. One of the dogs is facing the water and the other is looking forward/ A blonde-haired girl is sitting in a boat and she is holding onto two black dogs. They are all looking forward.

Take your dogs on outings. This is Misty and Victoria at the beach and Misty, Victoria and Emily out for a day on the boat.

Two Havanese dogs are standing on and in front of a hot wheels toy structure. Close up - A small white with tan Havanese puppy is standing on a tiled floor and to the right of it is a mop.

My own car seat!
It has a hook for my harness so I can't jump out. I really like to see out the window and since I have to sit in back, I can see Mom while she is driving. It's lots of fun. I usually go for a ride every day. Sometimes we go to the pet store so I can meet other dogs.
