Bassky

Basset Hound / Siberian Husky Mixed Breed Dogs

Information and Pictures

A tan, gray, white with black colored dog with ears that fold down and out to the sides, light brown eyes and a black nose sitting down in grass behind a chainlink fence

"This is Buddy, a six year old Husky / Bassett Hound mix. He is a very happy dog. Loves the outside, especially in the snow, he digs tunnels for himself. He is still as hyper as a six month old puppy. Good with people and kids, but like I said he is hyper and likes to jump up a lot! He talks all the time, the vet said just like a husky. Very smart dog, can figure he way out of anything and he can stand on his hind legs and dance (spins in circles). Loves to run, run, run. And boy, is he FAST! He is about knee high or a little taller and about 50 lbs. Such a sweet boy!"

Description

The Bassky is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Basset Hound and the Siberian Husky. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
