"This is my dog Czar. He is a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound / Husky cross. Czar is the happiest dog I have ever seen. He loves going for walks, car rides, running around in the backyard (in the snow or grass), hiking in the woods and going to the beach (although he is afraid of the water and will not swim). When indoors Czar likes to cuddle with his mommy, sleep and generally chill out. He loves lying on the front porch in the summer, just so he can watch the world go by. He is very friendly with people and other dogs; he especially likes children."
The Irish Wolfsky is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Siberian Husky and the Irish Wolfhound. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
Czar is a big boy, weighing about 90 lbs. He goes for 3-4 walks a day, and on weekends we like to go hiking or for longer walks - adventures! One bad habit, he's a runner!!! I can't let him off leash unless he's in a fenced area, because he bolts. I've chased him a couple of times, not fun, and he is so quick I can't catch him; so Czar stays on a leash. I got Czar at my local Humane Society, I was the lucky one to find such an amazing companion. Czar is very good natured and very well behaved. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, go to sleep and high five (shake a paw). He aims to please anyone. Czar is just so happy and content.
