"Lilleepadd is a Lhasa Apso / Toy Rat Terrier mix, shown here at 1 year old. She is very loving with everyone she knows, but it does take her a long time to warm up to people. When she finally does warm up to you, she will lick you until her tongue falls off. Lilleepadd gets in these moods where she will run from one side of the house to the other with her tail between her legs. She is a very scared dog, everything scares her. Lilleepadd is a big cuddler, she will cuddle up with you all night. Although, she will nip if touched while she is sleeping by herself. She gets lots of exercise. Lilleepadd loves to be outside. I feel she does better as a pair then she would alone. I have another dog of my own and my mom has two dogs. She is very playful with other dogs that she knows. With strange dogs she is not so friendly. She tends to sleep a lot even outside. She learns new tricks very quickly and listens very well without any formal training."
The Rat Apso is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Lhasa Apso and the Rat Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
