14-month-old Akita named Conrad
Note: There are two types of Akitas, the original Japanese Akita breed and now a separate designation for American standard Akitas. The weights and sizes are different and the American standard allows a black mask, whereas the original Japanese breed standard does not allow for a black mask. According to the FCI, in Japan and in many other countries around the world the American Akita is considered a separate breed from the Akita Inu (Japanese Akita). In the United States and Canada, both the American Akita and the Akita Inu are considered a single breed with differences in type rather than two separate breeds.
"This is a picture of my puppy Akita, Juno. In this photo she is 4 months old. Akitas are by far my favorite breed of dog. They are powerful, smart, beautiful, loving and loyal dogs. Since my fiancee and I rescued her from the SPCA, we have been applying all of Cesar's "ways" and it has been nothing but good. She is on a schedule. When we wake, it is straight outside, then breakfast, then love. It does help that she was a very calm dog when we first got her. Even though she is a puppy, she is doing great in our new apartment. I would say she is one of the happiest dogs I have been around."

"This is my sweet teddy bear Akita named EZ. He's a purebred long-coated Akita. He was definitely a mama's boy. But he very much loved my husband and two sons. He was calm and extremely friendly."

"EZ and my German Shepherd were the stuffed animal bandits. EZ LOVED my youngest son’s stuffed teddy bears. He never chewed them up, but he and his partner in crime would sneak in there during the night and steal them and carry them to his doggie bed in the living room. Nearly every morning I'd see him curled up with 2 or 3 teddies. :)"
"Over the years he's had a pet cat, goat and two dogs. To see that pack play was quite a sight, if you can only imagine. The goat had no idea it wasn't a dog. And it thought EZ was its mother. The cat chased the dogs... Craziness... lol..."
