"This is my 6-year-old rough Collie, Ginger. Her color is sable and white and she is white factored, as well as tri-factored (meaning if she was bred to a white or tri-factored male, she could produce tricolored or white pups in her litter). She is spayed, however...so there is no breeding in her future."

"We adopted Sasha in April from a local Humane Society. She loves to bark and play with other dogs. She especially likes the men in her life, but tolerates me pretty well. I have had Collie (mixes) before and love the breed. She is the first purebred Collie I've ever had and the first dog my husband has ever had of his own. We had seen her dad and sister at the Humane Society before we saw her. She was returned a few months later by the family that had adopted her and we jumped at the opportunity to own this beautiful pup!"
"Laddie is a rough Collie shown here at 14 months old. He came to us at a very right time. My other Collie Sham passed away in Sept. Laddie and Sham are related. I see many of Sham's old traits. For 1 thing Sham loved to have pictures taken. I take all my own pictures, and Laddie loves to pose for them. Laddie has learned all his obedience and I hope he will make a great therapy dog as Sham did. With his gentle, caring nature, he will be well suited for the role."
Heath the smooth-coated Collie at 5 months—"Heath is an absolute sweetheart! He's a very gentle soul. He is a bit of a spaz, though he can look very graceful and noble when he wants to. He's the first Collie my family has ever owned and we're absolutely in love with him. We weren't so sure about owning a Collie of the smooth variety (we were more interested in the rough) but we wouldn't change him for the world. Plus, he requires A LOT less grooming! He's a mellow dog who's great with kids, cats and other dogs (but he does like to herd our geese)."

"This is our Kodiak Spirit at 3 months, and all grown up (below) when he had raised a litter of kittens. Kodi was a herder from the day we got him, nipping at our daughters and anyone else he wanted to move heels. And helping to raise the kittens. He keeps them close. Kodi has the personality of an English gentleman at the fun-loving age of 3 years. He steps back and lets the cat eat and drink from his bowls. He bows to us when we come home from work. Kodi loves to run, fetch and just horse around!"

Neko the rough Collie puppy at 7 weeks old—"We got Neko when she was 7 weeks old. When we were picking her out from her pack, she was the most independent. She liked to wander off and explore, while her sisters and brothers hid for shade. She'd often be straying too far away, where then her mother would herd her back in. The other siblings hung around each other, but whenever they'd try to play or show affection to Neko, she would ignore them or walk away."
Neko the rough Collie puppy at 7 weeks old—"The first while away from the pack was hard, crying for almost a week at night. She cried when we left her alone at home for work, but that seemed to disappear after 2-3 weeks."

Neko the rough Collie puppy at 10 weeks old—"She was an extremely quick learner, but showed stubbornness at times. After a couple months she got over her crying and proved she could handle more responsibility. We then started letting her roam free while we slept, she would either sleep on one of our 'show' pillows we would put on the ground or she'd just sleep in her kennel (as I'm typing this, she's gone back and forth from her spots twice). She's gotten to the point where we can leave her in the house alone, she might climb up on our couch, but that's 'cause we established which one was 'hers'."

Neko the rough Collie puppy at 4 months old—"When we first got her, she loved to be on her own exploring. If we were outside lounging, she'd be sniffing around in no-man's land looking for a shady spot. As soon as she wanted to play, she'd let us know. She likes to chew on wood. In our yard, she collects sticks and pieces of wood from our pile and keeps them in bunched up in a certain area of the yard."

Neko the rough Collie puppy at 5 months old—"I really can't pick out a real bad habit. Except maybe when she gets super excited, her tail will knock over things on our relatively low coffee table. Other than that (which you can't even blame on her), for a 6-month-old dog she's extremely well-behaved. Everyone is astonished when they hear how old she is, she comes off extremely loyal, almost wise. She gets walked twice a day, in the morning and quite late at night (which she likes, because she gets less time on the leash seeing as no one else seems to be out with their dog at 10:30 on a cold winter night)."

Neko the rough Collie puppy at 6 months old—"We don't know what it is, but she seems to love Golden Retrievers. 9 out of 10 dogs she gets attached to are retrievers or retriever mixes. She's great with all animals, but still is wary until they prove they come in peace. And she ABSOLUTELY loves the snow."
