"Here is a picture of Lacey at 8 months old. She is a shorthaired Havanese. We didn't know that she was a shorthair until she was about 4 months old. When I researched the breed I found that there was a genetic flaw with the shorthaired. I'm not sure why the shorthair is a fault. I'd like to let other Havanese owners know that having a shorthair Havanese is not a bad thing. Do not discard the shorthair because of breed standard. Lacey is a beautiful little girl. She is loving and funny. I love her with all of my heart and I never would return her to the breeder just because she is shorthaired. Minimal grooming is a big benefit, in my opinion. Her face stays so clean, unlike our long-haired. I just need to trim the hair around her feet. She loves her walks and struts around with her head and tail held high. We also have a long-haired Havanese named Jake. He is a ball of energy. Both of them have fabulous temperaments. They are so loving and cuddly."
