"This is Budweiser, a 9 year old Tibetan Mastiff / Golden Retriever mix. His dad is 80% Tibetan Mastiff and 20% Golden, and his mom is a full-blooded Golden, so Bud is 60% Golden and 40% Tibetan Mastiff. He stands about 29 inches tall at his shoulders and weighs about 115 pounds. He loves to play ball, swim, and he especially loves to play in the snow and pull the dog sled. He is very protective and wary of strangers and doesn't like other male dogs, but around people he knows he is the biggest cuddle bug ever!"
The Tibetan Golden Mastiff is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Tibetan Mastiff. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
