Molly the Jack Chi at 8 years old—"Molly was rescued from a puppy farm breeding designer dogs. She sadly had her tail docked before I took ownership of her, though it is illegal in the UK, but puppy farm owners don't have morals, do they?? Anyway, she is a lively, lovely, gentle, attentive, feisty, very intelligent and responsive dog, very small at 4.5 kilos (9lbs 14 oz) She is quite chunky and should be about 4 kilos (8 lbs 13 oz) maximum. She loves to run and run and pick up a scent in the park and follow it until she finds the optimum concentration of smell and then roll on it like crazy until we notice that it's most likely fox poo and tell her to stop! She enjoys being highly trained and has a huge repertoire of tricks as well as being very good on the lead and off the lead. She will walk to heel with or without being tethered, unless she sees a cat or another dog then she turns into a raging psycho and barks her head off. She has a surprisingly big bark for a small dog! She raises all her hackles and tries to look as menacing as possible, which isn't very menacing for a 4.5 kilo Jack-Chi."
"Molly loves chewing beef bones and only eats dried dog food. Other than this, she won't eat wet food but loves human food especially if it is meat or potato based, hence her rather generous waistline! She adores walks and has a best friend who is a 3 year old Shih Tzu called Betsy. They play chase in the park together though Molly also is perfectly content playing by herself. Even at age 8 she loves nothing more than snuggling down with a stuffed toy and chewing on it and making it squeak. She will then proceed to empty it of stuffing completely and rip out it's 'heart' (the squeaker)."
"Molly can outrun many dogs much bigger than her an can turn on a sixpence. She is very agile indeed, super speedy and quite bouncy. She is a proper princess and likes to snuggle in bed or on the sofa and enjoys being buried under blankets and cushions and getting really warm. She is a perfect bed companion and sleeps all night without asking to be let out for a toilet trip, though she is also content being asked to sleep in a crate. We use a crate when we are on holiday or staying at someone else's house."
"Molly HATES being dressed up, but will tolerate a bandanna and a harness for in the car so we can plug her into a seat belt to keep her safe. She is a brilliant traveller and is never sick in the car and will jump in of her own accord when we go out on a trip. Her food bills are tiny as she only requires 30 grams, about 1.05 oz of dried nutrient rich food a day since being neutered. She hates having her flea treatment and having her nails cut but will tolerate it without any fuss. She is a beautiful little dog and an absolute joy as a pet. She learns so fast anything that we want to teach her, eager to learn and delightful in temperament."
"Molly is great with children and has never snapped or growled at a single human being in her life. She does growl at other unfamiliar dogs but its all vocal and nothing physically aggressive, though she has had a few ear scratches off cats in the neighbourhood. She pees on command and comes back when she is called and lives to please. I would recommend her breed mix to anyone who is after a lovely, attentive, intelligent little dog and doesn't have much indoor space, though obviously best with access to an outside space."
Petey the Chihuahua Jack Russel mix breed dog at 6 months old—"Petey is a born and raised Kentucky pup. He's got a HUGE personality in a very small body. He was very easy to potty train, and very easy to teach a few little things like sit and stay. The only thing he's done that was a no-no was, he chewed a spot in the carpet. But, we soon realized he's got separation anxiety BAD!! So put him in his bed give him a toy and blanket before we head out and he's the best little guard dog lol ever!!"
